Call for Peer Reviewers in Medicine and Physiology

Published on March 27, 2023

During the 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, 25–30 June 2023, Nobel Laureates and young scientists in the fields of medicine and physiology will exchange their knowledge and ideas. As in the case of prior meetings, we want to give our community of early-career researchers a platform: Selected Young Scientists will have the opportunity to present their work to a global audience during the Next Gen Science sessions.

We are inviting Lindau Alumni who would like to give back to become peer reviewers in the review process for the Next Gen Science sessions and thus help shape the discussions at the first meeting entirely focused on biomedicine since 2018. We’re looking forward to excellent results from this continued cooperative effort that was so successful since the 68th Lindau Meeting. As Lindau Alumni, you are closely connected to current, cutting-edge research and have already experienced the “Lindau Spirit”. You are in a unique position to review the work of the Lindau Meeting’s community members.

As Lindau Alumni peer reviewer, you will evaluate abstracts in biomedicine and closely related fields. The abstracts will be in English and not longer than one page. Typically, the abstracts are primarily texts with an occasional image or formula. Ideally, we would like to have at least 30 Lindau Alumni reviewers from around the world. We’re looking for a committed team of peer reviewers who represent the global Lindau Meetings’ community.

Criteria for peer reviewers:

  • Lindau Alumni
  • Excellent academic track record in medicine/physiology or closely-related fields
  • Post-doc or more experienced

The review phase will take place in May 2023. Further details will be forthcoming. We will of course certify your volunteer work as a Lindau Alumni peer reviewer.

If you are interested in being a peer reviewer and meet the criteria, send a brief statement of motivation, keyword(s) for your area of expertise and, if applicable, relevant updates to your CV to Christoph Schumacher, [email protected].
