Enthusiasm and Motivation Matter in the Long Run

Lindau Alumna Shatarupa Bhattacharya is a 4th year Senior Research Fellow at the School of Medical Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. Her research focuses on the genetic disorder thalassemia. For our blog, Shatarupa looked back at #LINO23 – and has some advice for #LINO24: 

Several months after the meeting, I am in active contact with few of the participants. A couple of days ago, one of the participants, whom I met during the meeting, started as an assistant professor and he texted to share this happy news. Probably this is what the Lindau spirit is, you connect and interact with fellow researchers only during those five days, but the bonds that you make stay forever, such that you share happy endeavours as well as heart-breaking failures with them, knowing how easily they will relate to you, since they are in the same boat.
